Chargebacks, refunds and payout holds: questions creators should ask
A hold is not automatically proof of wrongdoing, and a refund is not automatically a platform error. The review should identify the trigger, the evidence requested and the next written step.
What to check
- Read the definitions for refund, chargeback, reserve and restricted balance.
- Ask which documents support needs and how a deadline is calculated.
- Keep delivery, consent and customer-support evidence in a private record.
- Do not promise a buyer an outcome that the platform cannot control.
Editorial boundary
Use current platform terms and payment-provider instructions; never share sensitive records in public posts.
